VAT invoice: show the tax calculation clearly

A good VAT invoice makes the taxable amount, VAT and final total easy to understand at a glance.

Check when a VAT invoice is required

Requirements depend on the jurisdiction and VAT status of the parties. For example, UK guidance distinguishes VAT invoices from ordinary invoices and requires additional information when VAT applies.

Show the numbers consistently

Keep item values, VAT rate, VAT amount and final amount due consistent. If your prices already include VAT, make that clear in your calculation.

Keep customer and supplier details complete

Accurate names, addresses and tax identifiers help the customer process the document and reduce follow-up questions.

Review before sending

Invocket can calculate the values you enter and export the invoice as PDF, but you should still review the tax treatment before issuing it.
